Pune district recorded 664 new cases on June 24, taking the city's total tally to 17,515. Meanwhile, 313 patients were discharged yesterday and 22 of them succumbed to the virus.
Pune: Kolhapur has recorded its coronavirus recovery rate at 90.4 per cent. Out of the 36 districts in Maharashtra, Kolhapur has the highest recover rate, and Prabhani comes second with 87.1 per cent. Over 25,000 tests have been conducted in Kolhapur district which accounts for the highest number of COVID-19 testing in south of Maharashtra.
On the other hand, Pune district recorded 664 new cases on June 24, taking the city's total tally to 17,515. Meanwhile, 313 patients were discharged on Wednesday, and 22 of them succumbed to the virus. Of the 17,515 patients, 10,601 cases have recovered from the disease, and 639 died due to COVID-19. Pune's recovery rate is at 59.56 per cent. The total number of active cases stands at 6,275, out of which 329 are in a critical condition, informed the District Health Officer (DHO).
As many as 13,760 patients belong to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) region, while 2,325 come from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), and 502 patients are from Pune content area.
As per media reports, 1,44,472 people have been tested in the district.
Maharashtra, the worst affected-state, has reported a total of 1,42,900 coronavirus cases, out of which 3,890 cases were reported on June 24.
The State has managed to discharge 73,792 recovered patients, and the active cases stand at 62,354. Maharashtra's recovery rate is 51.64 per cent. The lowest recovery rate in Maharashtra is recorded in Solapur, which stands at 46.70 per cent. Meanwhile, the districts of Satara and Sangli have a recovery rate of 69.50 per cent and 54.60 per cent, respectively.
According to the Union Health Ministry, India, as of now has reported 4,73,105 COVID-19 cases, of which 2,71,696 patients are cured and discharged. Country's death toll stands at 14,894, and there are over 1,85,000 active cases.
