FALL RIVER - The city is reporting 1,566 total positive cases of COVID-19 in Fall River, and two more deaths, for a total of 98.

Somerset is reporting 201 total cases, Swansea 133, Westport 97 and Freetown 97. The Department of Public Health does not list deaths for the towns.

The COVID-19 death toll at Massachusetts long-term care facilities reached 5,007 on Wednesday. Fall River's long term-care facilities reported 71 total deaths.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported that there were 23,297 cases among residents and workers across 369 facilities in the state.

This update comes on the same day that a scathing report was released about the handling of a COVID-19 outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers' Home.

As of June 24, weekly data from the DPH shows that 91,404 COVID-19 patients have been released from isolation, meaning they are considered to have recovered from the virus. Last week, state health officials said 88,725 patients had recovered from COVID-19.

The DPH also reported 48 new COVID-19-related deaths across the state Wednesday, bringing the state's total to 7,938.

In addition, state health officials reported 172 new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 107,611.

As of Wednesday, 939 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 and 181 of them were in the ICU, with 98 intubated. One week ago, there were 998 hospitalized, with 227 in the ICU and 135 intubated.

Charlton Memorial Hospital is reporting 62 cases, with 10 in the ICU; one week ago, they had 39 cases, with nine in the ICU.

Morton Hospital is reporting five cases, with zero in the ICU; one week ago, they had 10 cases, two in the ICU.

St. Luke's Hospital is reporting 20 cases, with three in the ICU; one week ago, they had 16 cases, with two in the ICU.

Saint Anne's Hospital is reporting two cases, with zero in the ICU; last week they had zero cases.
