Odisha govt forms panels to develop online content for schools

BHUBANESWAR: For the academic interest of students in view of Covid-19 pandemic and its aftermath Odisha government on Wednesday formed four committees conceptualisation, resource mapping and developing contents for digital and online classes.
The committee are formed for Higher Secondary Education (Class-XI and XII), Committee for Secondary Education (Class-IX and X), Committee for Elementary Education (Class-I to VIII), and Monitoring Committee.
The committees will map and identify the availability of the resources and teaching materials already available in online platforms like MadhuApp, DikshaApp or portal, Khan Academy, Byju’s. Wherever the gaps are identified, suitable resource persons should be engaged for preparing online materials.
The digital contents created under the supervision of the committee will be uploaded in MadhuApp/DikshaAPP and will be telecasted in Doordarshan and Swayamprava.
The elementary and secondary committees will monitor the successful implementation of Odisha Shiksha Sanjog programme in their respective levels.
“The committees will meet through Zoom or Microsoft Team frequently to discuss the developments frequently. The identification of gaps for creation of online teaching materials should be completed within 10 days and thereafter materials should be created in phased manner,” mentioned the letter issued by Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA).
The concept mapping and digital materials prepared by the committee will be assessed by the State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) in case of elementary classes, Board of Secondary Education (BSE) for secondary classes and Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) for higher secondary education or plus-two classes.
“The materials will be finally uploaded by the OSEPA authorities in different platforms like Madhu App and Diksha Portal,” said the official letter.
