Most dogs run away from their owners when they are being told off for chewing up things in the house.

Reno the dog crept towards his owner in slow-motion in strange footage taken at his home.

In the video, Reno's owner clicks at his dog, points to the ground in front of him and says 'come here'.

Reno nervously wages his tail while looking up at his owner before taking his first step forward.

The dog begins walking in slow-motion as his owner says 'get over here' while still wagging his tail.

Reno stops wagging his tail in a crouched position while still edging forward as his owner glances at the camera and the woman filming lets out a snigger.

Reno's owners posted the video with the caption: 'When you chew stuff up off the counter while mom and dad are gone and you know what's about to happen.

'Reno chewed things up from on top of the counter and knows he is in trouble when dad sees it.'

Veterinarians refer to dogs walking in slow-motion as 'trancing', a non-dangerous quirk in canine behaviour.

It often occurs when dogs walk under hanging leaves, tablecloths or clothes that lightly touch their back but can happen for a variety of reasons.
