Share market update: PSU bank shares down; SBI dips 2%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading lower in Wednesday's session.

Shares of Union Bank of India (down 6.54 per cent) , Indian Bank (down 3.41 per cent) , State Bank of India (down 2.29 per cent) , Bank of Maharashtra (down 2.19 per cent) , UCO Bank (down 1.4 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (down 0.67 per cent) and Punjab & Sind Bank (down 0.58 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.06 per cent up at 1524.85 around 02:15PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 70.20 points at 10400.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 246.78 points at 35183.65.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Bank of Baroda, Tata Motors, RBL Bank Ltd., SBI, PNB, IDFC First Bank Ltd., Ashok Leyland and ITC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
