Sushant Singh Rajput suicide: Final postmortem report says no external injuries or foul play

The final postmortem report of Sushant Singh Rajput confirms asphyxia due to hanging as the cause of death. No foul play or external injury marks were found.

The final postmortem report has been received by police in the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case. The cause of death has been cited as asphyxia due to hanging. His viscera has been preserved and sent for chemical analysis. The provisional postmortem report was signed by three doctors, while the final report has been signed by five doctors after detailed analysis. The police has written to Directorate of Forensic Science Services to expedite the chemical analysis process at the forensic science laboratory.

There were no struggle marks or external injuries on Sushant Singh Rajput's body. His nails were clean. The postmortem report says it is a clear case of suicide and no other foul play. Therefore, theories that linked the death of Disha Salian, Sushant Singh Rajput's ex-manager who worked for a talent management company run by Uday Singh Gauri and had met him only once, do not connect.

Statements of a total of 23 people have been recorded in the case so far. Sushant Singh Rajput's Chartered Accountant, Sanjay Sridhar, is the 23rd person. Others, whose statements have been recorded include his father and three sisters; Siddharth Pithani, his friend and creative content manager; Keshav, the cook; Mohd Shaikh, the keysmith; Shakeel Hussain, the brother of keysmith; Uday Singh Gauri, business manager; Radhika Nihalani, PR manager; Kushal Zaveri, the director of Sushant's first serial who later became his manager; Rhea Chakraborty, Mukesh Chhabra, and others.

In addition, the police has clarified that the building CCTVs were working, his dog was in another room and is alive.

Bandra police had earlier received a copy of Sushant Singh Rajput's contract papers with Yash Raj FIlms (YRF). Sushant had signed the contract with YRF in 2012.

The police further added that websites that reported certain theories behind Sushant Singh Rajput's death, could be summoned for questioning on their sources.
