73% Covid-19 recovery rate in Koderma: DC

Koderma: The recovery rate of Covid-19 patients in the district currently touched 73% after the discharge of 32 patients on Monday, deputy commissioner Ramesh Gholap said on Tuesday. The district had reported its first case on April 11.
He said, “Of the total 158 cases in the district, 116 are cured so far. The remaining 41 patients are under treatment and will be discharged soon. The district’s rate of recovery of Covid-19 patients has reached 73% which is a great achievement for us.”
However, the data released by the state wing of the National Health Mission said Koderma has 159 positive cases and 109 have recovered along with one death till Tuesday morning.
The DC further said despite challenges in terms of medical infrastructure, health department officials are working overtime to win over the viral infection. He said, “Systemic treatment of patients by our doctors under the able guidance of experts is worth commendable.”
According to Gholap, early detection of cases is one of the reasons for the high rate of recovery. “Special strategies are being worked out to break the coronavirus chain in the district. A total of 1,650 surveillance teams are working to reach out to 1.2 lakh houses. A separate team has also been formed to oversee the operations of the surveillance team,” he said, adding that about 3,068 swab samples have been tested so far and efforts are on to increase it.
