Cromarty tops DIQE's nature photo challenge

Sheldon Cromarty won the Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and the Environment's (DIQE) nature photo challenge earlier this month. The competition was held in commemoration of World Environment Day on June 5. DIQE has actively encouraged the population to make "Time for Nature" and this year's celebration sought to encourage people to reflect on their contribution and behaviours with a view to making appropriate behavioural changes where deficiencies existed; and to consolidate good practices.
The photography challenge asked Tobagonians to capture the beauty of the environment and their gardening exploits, utilising mobile devices. The competition ended on June 12 with Cromarty's submission capturing Golden Lane, winning the $1,000 first prize.
In second place was Akessa Alexander, alias Mad Man Kessa, with an image of Princess Bay. Alexander won $800. In third spot with a picture of Buccoo was Camille Daniel who received $600.
The People's Choice award of $500 went to Darnell Orr's for a photo of Hope.
