Lordstown Endurance Teased One Last Time Ahead Of Tomorrow Debut

Lordstown Motors has released the final teaser images of their Endurance pickup truck, ahead of its debut tomorrow at 12 p.m ET.

As you can see, the truck remains pretty faithful to earlier renderings as the Endurance has a unique front fascia with an enclosed grille that is surrounded by air intakes.

The model also has slender LED headlights and stylish black wheels with copper accents. The latter appear to be a reference to the truck’s electric powertrain which uses four in-wheel motors to produce a combined output of 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS).

While full details will be released tomorrow, the company has previously said the motors will enable the truck to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 5.5 seconds. The model is also slated to have a range in excess of 250 miles (402 km) on a single charge.

Inside, we can expect a high-tech cabin with a Mercedes-like digital instrument cluster that flows into an infotainment system. The model could also have a rotary shifter or a push-button shifter mounted on the dashboard.

The unveiling will be livestreamed and CEO Steve Burns will be joined by Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette as well as company employees and other government officials.

The inclusion of Vice President Pence is interesting as President Trump appeared clueless about Lordstown Motors existence less than three months ago. In a Twitter tantrum about GM and ventilators, Trump said “General Motors MUST immediately open their stupidly abandoned Lordstown plant in Ohio, or some other plant, and START MAKING VENTILATORS, NOW!!!!!!”

Reopening Lordstown Assembly, of course, would have been impossible as it was bought months earlier by Lordstown Motors to build the Endurance.

Regardless, we’ll remind you the Endurance is aimed at fleet customers and pricing will start at $52,500 before incentives.
