Police officials participate in blood donation campHYDERABAD: Cyberabad police, in collaboration with Thalassemia Sickle Cell Society, on Wednesday conducted a blood donation camp at GRK Gardens.
The camp was conducted with an intention to help Thalassemia patients, specifically children, apart from dialysis, cancer patients and people injured in accidents, who require blood regularly.
Police personnel from Cyberabad staff and volunteers donated 88 units of blood. Cyberabad police requested citizens who intend to donate blood to contact - 7901125460.
"A total of 424 units of blood so far has been collected in Cyberabad," said a top official from the commissionerate.
CP Cyberabad, VC Sajjanar said people usually think they will become weak after donating blood which is a myth.
Indian Red Cross Society's Ranga Reddy district branch also joined hands in conducting a blood donation camp at Shahbad Mandal and collected 56 units of blood. The local police, Red Cross volunteers and other people participated in the camp.
