While CBSE officials refused to make any statement as the matter is sub judice, sources said there is likelihood of the exams being cancelled in view of the rising number of infections across the country. TOI had first reported that the Board is deliberating on scrapping the papers.

The CBSE had scheduled to hold the pending 29 papers of Class 12 Boards from July 1-15 along with six papers of Class X for the northeast district of Delhi where exams could not be held in February due to the riots. A senior HRD ministry official said the Board had kept all options open.
