Representative imagePATIALA: A 35-year-old man committed suicide after he could not get his three-months salary of lockdown period from his employer. The police had found the dead body of the deceased three days after it had gone missing.
The deceased have been identified as Bikramjit Singh of Gurdialpura village, but was living in a rented house in Samana town of the district. The police revealed that Bikramjit (35) was disturbed from the past few days as he could not get his salary from his employer. Bikram was employed as a mechanic in an automobile agency in Samana.
The police said that family alleged Bikramjit had gone missing on June 20 after he left home without letting anyone know about it. The family searched out for him but vain and finally reached the police for help. The police said that it was suspected that Bikramjit had jumped into the Bhakhra canal, the divers were asked to carry out search and finally, the dead body of Bikramjit was fished out on Monday while the post-mortem was carried out on Tuesday.
The case under sections of abetment to suicide was registered at city Samana police station on the complaint of Bikram’s wife Beant Kaur.
“We have registered a case against the manager of the agency who is a resident of Samana however he is yet to be nabbed. The post-mortem has been conducted and the dead body has been handed over to the family members. Bikramjit was survived by a son and daughter, both aged 9 and 10 years. He was employed as a mechanic and was hardly meeting both ends. The family said he did not get a salary of lockdown period following which he put all his efforts to convince the employer however all in vain and finally he committed suicide by jumping into the canal. The further investigation into the matter is underway." said ASI Rajvir Singh, investigation officer in the case.
