NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading on a mixed note in Wednesday's session.

Shares of ITC (up 3.36 per cent) , United Breweries (up 2.38 per cent) , Godrej Consumer Products (up 1.75 per cent) , Nestle India (up 1.18 per cent) , Jubilant Foodworks (up 1.04 per cent) and Marico (up 0.58 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Emami (down 3.65 per cent) , TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS (down 2.29 per cent) , United Spirits (down 1.45 per cent) , P & G Hygiene (down 1.21 per cent) , VBL (down 1.14 per cent) , Hindustan Unilever (down 0.9 per cent) , Colgate Palmolive (India) (down 0.78 per cent) , Dabur India (down 0.28 per cent) and Britannia Industries (down 0.13 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.79 per cent up at 29588.55 around 02:10PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 54.70 points at 10416.3, while the BSE Sensex was down 176.3 points at 35254.13.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Bank of Baroda, Tata Motors, RBL Bank Ltd., SBI, PNB, IDFC First Bank Ltd., Ashok Leyland and ITC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
