Soni Razdan, senior actor and mother of Alia Bhatt, who finds herself entangled in a controversy related to nepotism brought on by Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, recently shared her views on all that’s been going on. She wondered how these people who are ‘ranting’ about the issue today will react when their kids want to join the industry in future. Soni was responding to a tweet by director Hansal Mehta, in which he talked about the need to broaden the ‘nepotism debate’, keeping ‘merit’ in mind. Soni’s tweet read as follows, ‘The expectation that people have because of whose son or daughter you are is much more. Also those who r ranting about nepotism today and who have made it on their own will also have kids one day. And what if they want to join the industry? Will they stop them from doing so?’
