Aspiring beauty queen Tori White who lost 10st, approximately 64kgs shares her struggle being bullied for her weight, struggle losing the extra fat and her struggle with body dysmorphia after shedding weight.
Tori, from Liverpool was bullied in primary school because of her weight and so after leaving school, she decided to lose weight but she got so obsessed by her regime that she dropped from 17st to 7st in just two years and struggled with body dysmorphia. “Since my weight loss I have had extra skin around my tummy and arms and have been careful to wear certain clothes to hide this because it doesn’t fit into with what people conceive as ‘beautiful’. This post is appreciating my insecurities and owning my body and all it’s been through! It is strong, healthy and I love it. So girls this is for you, stop comparing yourself to these “perfect” girls you see on Instagram, we all have our flaws and that’s what makes us unique and amazing!!!💜💜💜” she said in a post encouraging all the girls to stop comparing themselves to others."
In a recent post on instagram celebrating ‘national say something nice day’ she pointed out how we judge ourselves by the names people call us and asked everyone to start believing in oneself. “Here are some of the words I’ve been called in my life and labels others have branded me, some I’m guilty of calling myself such as ‘worthless’ or ‘ugly’. It’s so easy to pick apart others, especially ourselves and I think it’s time for a change. You are all such beautiful souls and it’s time we all ditch the labels and nasty words and start believing in ourselves 💖 *I know I spelt worthless wrong my bad😂*” she said.
The 20 year old, who is a second year criminal law student at the University of Leeds, now aspires to be a beauty queen in the hope of showing people it is 'what's on the inside that counts'. Tori is an inspiration to many girls who are highly conscious of the way they look, and keeps motivating them with body positivity through her social media account. We wish her all the best for her future endeavors.
