Now, Cabinet opens India’s space infrastructure to private companies

In a historic decision, the Union Cabinet on Wednesday decided to open the country’s space assets for alland approved setting up of a new space board called Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation (IN-SPACE). Union minister Prakash Javadekar, while announcing a series of cabinet decisions, said the “Modi government has decided to open up space assets for all. It is a big decision”. Union minister of state for department of space Jitendra Singh said, “The new board IN-SPACE will provide a level-playing field to provide privatecompanies to use India’s space infrastructure and it will also guide the private industry in space activities through encouraging policies and friendly regulatory environment.”
