MUMBAI: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to revise its exam guidelines for the country after several large institutions with student population running into lakhs expressed their inability to hold exams.
"Now, taking into context the current Covid-19 pandemic situation in different states, the UGC is revising the guidelines that were earlier released," AICTE chairman Anil Sahasrabuddhe said.
"This time around, the UGC has also roped in all the apex professional bodies like AICTE, Bar Council of India, Architecture Council, Pharmacy council, among others. We will review the situation across the country and release new exam guidelines," he said.
To date, the Medical Council of India, the Dental Council of India, Council of Architecture and Bar Council of India have asked colleges to put candidates through an online exams or a project. Some councils have stated that merely graduating students without putting them through an exam would violate their respective Acts.
