Covid-19 cases surged in Maharashtra (3,890 fresh infections), Delhi (3,788), Tamil Nadu (2,865), Telangana (891), Uttar Pradesh (700), Gujarat (572), Andhra Pradesh (497), Haryana (490), Bengal (445) and Assam (429), among other states, taking the day’s total to 17,156, as per data collated from state governments.
