HYDERABAD: A scrap vendor bludgeoned his father-in-law to death in an inebriated condition at his house in Nalgonda town on Sunday night. The victim, Venkateshwarulu (45), was a native of Bapatla in Guntur district of AP and the accused has been identified as Ch Gopi from Ram Nagar in Nalgonda.
“During the argument, in a fit of rage, Gopi hit Venkateshwarulu on his head with a pestle. Venkateshwarulu sustained a head injury and collapsed. Famiily members rushed him to a hospital where he succumbed while undergoing treatment on Sunday night,” Nalgonda police said. Based on the complaint lodged by Venkateshwarulu’s kin, a murder case was registered. Gopi has been taken into custody.
