COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore district police on Tuesday seized an omnibus carrying 25 guest workers from Rajasthan as it didn’t have a valid e-pass.
Around 6.30am, a team of police intercepted the omnibus at SP Apparels check post. They scanned the QR code of the e-pass and came to know that it belonged to a car and the guest workers had forged the e-pass to travel to Coimbatore from Rajasthan.
The guest workers told the police that they came to Coimbatore for work. They had been earlier working at Perundurai in Erode district and various parts of Coimbatore.
Health department officials took samples from the guest workers and five drivers for Covid-19 testing. They were quarantined in a marriage hall at Karumathampatti.
