Karnataka SSLC exam 2020: Rising Covid-positive cases ahead of KSEEB 10th exams a worry for parents

BENGALURU: The surge in Covid-positive cases in Bengaluru and a few districts in north Karnataka has put parents of SSLC examinees on the backfoot. After waiting for three months and being eager to get it over with, many say the situation must be reassessed now while others say the fixation on examinations must end.
The SSLC exams, initially scheduled from March 27, are to be held from June 25 to July 5.
"Even while the numbers were growing in other metros, we in Bengaluru remained safe. Not any more. The shift has been drastic in the past three days. There is talk of community spread. How can we send our children out confidently?" asked Sharanya R, a private company employee. "As it is, exam-related anxiety is high among students and the Covid situation has been adding to it."
