SURAT: After a gap of almost three weeks,
Tapi district reported two
new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday. According to health department officials, the two cases were reported from Raniamba village in
Songadh taluka of Tapi district. Two members of a family tested positive for
Covid-19 in the village.
"Dinesh Upadhyay (43) and brother Nilesh Upadhaya (41) had cough and fever and went to a see a doctor in Surat. Their samples were taken for testing for Covid-19 and the reports of the both samples came positive for Covid-19,'' said an official.
Meanwhile,Tapi district will not have to send Covid-19 testing samples to Surat as the state government allotted one Covid-19 testing machine (True net) at general hospital in Vyara town, a district headquarter of Tapi.
"The machine has been given to the general hospital's laboratory for testing and now we will carry out Covid-19 testing here only,'' said Dr. Naitik Chaudhary, Civil Surgeon, General Hospital, Vyara.
Tapi has sent 3,205 for testing till date and has so far reported a total of seven Covid-19 cases.
