MUMBAI: The BEST has further improved the recovery rate of Covid-19 positive staffers -- with 26% a month ago to 75% on Tuesday.
Dr Anil Kumar Singhal, chief medical officer at BEST said, "The number of patients discharged from hospital has crossed the 400 mark and this has happened faster than expected. We are glad many staffers are back home with families."
The number of staffers who have recovered is 420, while the total Covid positive cases so far is 560, he said.
Of those discharged, nearly 60 patients were those who were previously in serious condition. Around 40 more such serious patients continue to undergo treatment at hospitals, sources said.
“We had in the past shifted our staffers to private hospitals when we were unable to get ICU beds in civic and government hospitals," Dr Singhal added.
