UPPSC PCS 2018 Mains result declared, 2669 candidates qualified for interview

The UPPSC has released the list on its website in the PDF format of the candidates who have been selected for the interviews.

PRAYAGRAJ: The authorities of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has declared the results of Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services General selection/ Divyanjan Backlog (Mains)-2018, popularly known as PCS (Mains)-2018, on Tuesday evening.

As per the notification issued by the commission and signed by the secretary UPPSC, Jagdish, PCS (Mains)-2018 was conducted for a total of 988 posts in October 2019 and this included four posts for which the selections are to be made based solely on the written exams.

Following this, a total of 2669 candidates have been declared qualified to take part in the interview round of the selection process for the remaining 984 posts, added UPPSC secretary Jagdish. UPPSC would be declaring the dates and schedule of interviews later.

Tuesday’s result has been duly uploaded on the official website of the commission— https://uppsc.up.nic.in/ for the benefit of the candidates, added Jagdish.

The marks of the candidates included in the main examination, cutoff marks etc. will be given after the final result of the recruitment is announced. Outside Uttar Pradesh, the women candidates who were successful through a release issued on October 5, 2019, the result will be subject to the final decision passed in Special Appeal No. 475/2019 filed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

The preliminary examination of PCS and ACF (Assistant conservator of forest) / RFO (Range forest officer) was conducted on October 28, 2018. This was the first time that the preliminary examination of ACF / RFO with PCS was also conducted.


For this reason, the commission had to conduct this examination at 1381 centers in 29 districts of the state. Out of 635844 candidates applying for this, 398630 appeared in the examination.


The result of preliminary examination was declared on March 30, 2019 wherein 19096 candidates for 988 posts were declared successful for the main examination.


The commission had revised the result of PCS 2018 Pre on October 5, 2019 on the order of the High Court, 160 women candidates from outside Uttar Pradesh were successful for the main examination. The main exam was held from 18 to 22 October 2019 in Prayagraj and Lucknow, in which 16738 candidates appeared. Of these, 2669 have been declared successful for the interview.
