Gujarat: Surat reports 152 new Covid-19 cases, 4 deaths

SURAT: Surat reported 152 Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the tally to 3,529 in the city. According to Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), of the 152 cases, Katargam zone reported the highest number of Covid-19 cases with 40, followed by 26 in Varachha (A), 24 in Rander and 16 in Limbayat zone.
The Covid-19 hotspot Katargam zone now 848 cases, the second highest after Limbayat zone.
Four Covid-19 patients succumbed to the virus which included a 71-year-old man from Katargam, 55-year-old woman from Limbayat, 50-year-old woman from Varachha (A) and 82-year-old man from Rander zone in the city. SMC officials said that all four patients had comorbid conditions, especially diabetes. The death toll due to Covid-19 reached 141 in the city.
Meanwhile, 57 Covid-19 patients were discharged in Surat city on Tuesday. Total 2287 patients have recovered and been discharged till date in the city.
