Hit And Run Driver Drags Motorcycle Along Californian Highway

In a rather bizarre incident, a hit and run driver was filmed dragging a Honda superbike along 91 Freeway in Corona, California last Friday.

The California Highway Patrol state that the man driving the van struck a motorcyclist on the eastbound lanes of the 91 Freeway at approximately 7 p.m. The driver decided to flee the scene while the motorcycle was wedged at the right front end of the van and being pushed along, sending sparks spewing down the highway as he passed other cars. Fortunately, the motorcyclist wasn’t still on the bike.

CBS Local reports that the biker complained about pain in their arms and legs at the scene but was otherwise uninjured.

The person who filmed the YouTube video below followed the speeding van driver and eventually found the destroyed motorcycle on the side of a road after it came free. The van was spotted nearby after crashing into a fence.

The hit and run driver, 25-year-old George Valentin, is understood to have fled the scene on foot. He was arrested by police on Saturday on felony charges of hit and run after admitting to being the driver.

The motorcyclist, Chain Arunritthirot, says he was thrown roughly 200 feet away from the collision. “I was like oh this guy did try to kill me!” the biker said in an interview with CBS2/KCAL9. “I feel like it was intentional, like he hunted me down.”

California Highway Patrol estimate the motorcyclist was traveling at approximately 65 mph (104 km/h) when the van hit him from behind at 70 mph (112 km/h).
