Panchkula to get Rs 11 crore old age home

PANCHKULA: A seven-storey old age home having a basement parking will be built at a cost of Rs 11.66 crore in Sector 27.
Municipal corporation officials said the project will be come up on 0.888 acres of land in two years.
Engineering wing officials said the building will have all the facilities like basement parking, medical team rooms, dining area and kitchen on ground floor.
On first floor, there will be a gym equipped with latest machines and gear and an entertainment room.
All other floors will have 80 rooms for 160 elderly people. Out of the 80 rooms, 10 will be for couples.
Haryana assembly speaker and local MLA Gian Chand Gupta instructed the engineering wing officials to maintain high standards. Any compromise in the quality of work will invite action against the officer, he said. "The facility of old age home is required here. All the facilities will be provided," he said. Gupta broke a coconut as a ritual for the inauguration of the work.
