Union Home Minister Amit held his third meeting in a week with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal in Delhi on Sunday to discuss the status of coronovirus in the capital. In a significant change in the strategy to prevent the capital outbreak, the Delhi government has been asked to demarcate the area involved and report to the Center the deaths from each coronovirus.
There were 3,000 new coronovirus cases and 63 deaths in Delhi on Sunday. The overall count of the capital rose to 59,746 and the death toll rose to 2,175.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Shah directed the officials to conduct a serological survey in the capital from 27 June to 10 July. Residents will be tested for antibodies in the survey. 20,000 people will be tested for coronovirus under this practice.
The Home Minister directed the Delhi government to submit a detailed report of every coronovirus death to the Center. The Center said, "The Union Home Minister directed the Delhi government to conduct an assessment in relation to every dead person, also inform how many days before the death the person was brought to the hospital and where." Special attention should be paid to whether the person was isolated from home or whether the person was brought to the hospital at the right time. "
At the meeting, Shah told the Delhi government that everyone coming positive for coronovirus should first be sent to Kovid-care centers. The Ministry of Home Affairs said, "Those who have adequate facilities in the house may be allowed to stay in the house."
