Native Deodorant Creates Safe Environment In "Pits" Of Loved Ones
Personal Care Company Taps Mustache Agency to Create a Socially Distanced Digital Campaign

BROOKLYN, N.Y., June 23, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Native, a direct-to-consumer personal care company, partnered with Mustache, a Cognizant-owned award-winning creative content agency, to create a digital campaign that pays homage to the often-underappreciated spot under our arms where we hold our loved ones closest.
Since entering the scene more than five years ago, Native has become known for offering a portfolio of products that are not only free of harmful toxins, like their aluminum-free deodorant, but that work and smell good, too.
"In the early phases of the campaign, we realized that, now more than ever, keeping our loved ones physically close is significant," said Vineet Kumar, CEO of Native. "But in this era of social distancing, intimate moments are reserved only for those in our immediate families and small social circles, and how safe are we in each other's arms, really, if we're still using a product full of harmful toxins?" he finished.
With this in mind, Mustache and Native were determined to highlight this sentiment and create an ode to armpits by turning the perception of a typically unfavorable body part on its head to show how special of a place they actually are.
The campaign required a socially distant creative process from start to finish. "Everything from casting and production to ideation and post was done within the guidelines at the time of production," said Eli Ash of Mustache.
The result? The depiction of joyful, slice-of-life moments – like snuggling, spooning and cuddling – that both captures the comfort most of us are seeking right now and stresses the importance of a toxin-free deodorant. "I love everything about how this project turned out," said Ash. "Each piece of creative feels like a candid, un-staged home video captured by the families and loved ones featured in the spots."
The ads started to run across YouTube, Facebook and Instagram via 15-second spots on June 7. The longer, 30-second hero went live on YouTube on June 10 and has gotten more than two and half million views to date. Click here to watch.
While shooting the ads, Mustache put together a fun behind-the-scenes video to showcase the hard work, creativity, and flexibility that went into producing a full-scale campaign completely remotely. That video can viewed here.
Previously, Native and Mustache partnered on a preliminary campaign last month, timed with Mother's Day, that has gotten more than nine million views.
