As many 4,000 saplings of 20 different varieties of saplings will be planted in them.
Ranga Reddy district collector Amoy Kumar on Tuesday asked officials to identify the land as the ‘Haritha Haram’ programme of planting saplings will begin on June 25. All vacant lands will be identified in the villages where plantation programme will be undertaken with neem, gulmohar and other trees. In the ‘nature park’ that will be developed in each village, fruit-bearing trees like custard apple, pomegranate, guava and other trees will be planted.
The parks will also have pathways for people to walk and benches for visitors to sit on. A survey will be undertaken in all the villages about the availability of the land, the condition and ownership and a report will have to be submitted to the collector by June 27 for the plantation to be taken up. If the land is uneven, the officials have been asked to level it using tractors and clear up the bushes from the site.
