Share market update: PSU bank shares gain; PNB up 5%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading higher in Tuesday's session.

Shares of J & K Bank (up 9.75 per cent) , Indian Bank (up 8.55 per cent) , Union Bank of India (up 7.32 per cent) , Indian Overseas Bank (up 5.39 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (up 4.89 per cent) , Central Bank of India (up 3.57 per cent) , Punjab & Sind Bank (up 2.37 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (up 1.92 per cent) , Canara Bank (up 1.83 per cent) , State Bank of India (up 1.78 per cent) , Bank of India (up 1.25 per cent) and UCO Bank (up 1.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 2.99 per cent up at 1517.7 around 02:21PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 111.55 points at 10422.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 350.63 points at 35261.95.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 46 were trading in the green, while 4 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, PNB, IDFC First Bank Ltd., Tata Motors, Glenmark Pharma, Bank of Baroda, SBI and Federal Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
