BMW has just introduced a special variant of the 8-Series dubbed the Golden Thunder Edition, available in Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe guises.
All BMW 8-Series Golden Thunder Edition models come finished in either Sapphire Black metallic or Frozen Black metallic with accompanying contrasting golden accents.
Among the gold parts included are graphics on the front bumper which run along the side skirts and extend on to the rear apron. Additionally, the wing mirror caps, 20-inch M light alloy wheels, and M rear spoiler are also finished in gold.
Adding to the appeal of 8-Series Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe models in Golden Thunder Edition form is the fact that all come with the M sports package as a standard feature.
The unique Golden Thunder treatment carries over into the cabin which features extended BMW Individual Merino leather finished in black and complete with a special inscription on the headrests. The German car manufacturer has also outfitted the 8-Series Coupe and 8-Series Gran Coupe Golden Thunder Edition models with an Alcantara Anthracite roof liner.
Hands down the most striking aspect of the interior is the aluminum mesh effect gold found throughout, including on the center console where you would ordinarily expect to find carbon fiber or a piano black finish. All models also come equipped with a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system.
BMW has yet to announce pricing details for the special edition model but intends on starting production at its Dingolfing site from September.
