One killed, 12 passengers injured after bus hits truck on Agra-Lucknow expressway

AGRA: A truck driver was killed and dozen of passengers of a private bus were injured in an accident on Agra-Lucknow expressway.
The accident occurred at 14.6km stone of Dauki police limit of Agra district at around 1:35am, when a sand laden truck from Etawah hit into divider and went across the other lane, following which a speeding bus heading Basti district from Delhi hit the truck.
Jagdish Singh, the cheif security officer of UPEIDA patrolling team said, "The impact of the collision was so severe, that truck split into three parts. The truck driver was killed on the spot, while the bus driver was critically injured. At least 12 passengers out of 38 were injured."
He added, "The truck had left Fatehabad toll plaza at 21km stone just few minutes before the accident, don't know how he hit into divider and went across the other lane."
By the time this report was filed, Dauki police was still trying to identify the deceased victim. The body was sent for post-mortem, while the injured were sent to hospital.
