Mangaluru: Two
repatriation flights, including one chartered flight from UAE and another from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, landed at
Mangaluru International Airport on Sunday.
The chartered flight was arranged by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC), and was carrying 173 passengers from Sharjah, UAE. It landed around 11.30am.
The second flight under the Vande Bharat Mission, with 169 people and 11 infants on board, landed around 7pm. Yatish Ullal, assistant commissioner, Puttur in-charge of
Vande Bharat Mission and repatriation flights, said that after the initial health screening was done of all the passengers, they were sent into institutional quarantine for seven days. Their throat swabs will be collected and tested after five days. He added that on Monday, two more repatriation flights are expected to land at Mangaluru International Airport from UAE and Saudi Arabia.
