MYSURU: Next time when you visit the palace city Mysuru, you can enjoy tea and coffee at a unique restaurant. In a first of its kind experiment in the country, a coach cafeteria is launched at the popular rail museum of the city.
A refurbished coach which was lying waste has been converted into the coach restaurant. It will be the new attraction to the Rail museum which tells the story of Indian railways and one of the popular tourist attractions of the city.
South Western Railway (SWR) Mysuru divisional railway manager (DRM) Aparna Garg informed that she got this idea when the renovation of the Rail museum was in progress. "This coach was lying unused. We converted the same coach into a coach cafeteria," she said.
This coach cafeteria stabled at a vantage point for the visitors to have a magnificent view of several outdoor exhibits like steam locomotives, vintage gabled style iconic wayside railway station, level crossing gate, and a green tunnel and the lovely amphitheater in a lush green backdrop.
The authorities informed that this customized coach restaurant with soothing ambiance has a seating capacity of 20 persons with four persons per table.
It can be recalled that earlier SWR Mysuru Railway workshop converted an unused coach into a class room.
