The woman, from Adelaide, and her husband decided to set themselves a challenge to get all their entrée, main and dessert from the budget supermarket store.
For a dinner for two, they served up chicken and leek pies oozing with Camembert sauce ($4.49) as a starter and enjoyed salmon wellingtons with cheese and spinach sauce wrapped in a crispy puff pastry ($5.49) and potato gratin ($3.69) as the main.
Complementing their date night meal with a $12 bottle of French Champagne, the pair tucked into a baked custard Danish ($3.99) with a dollop of double cream ($3.69) for dessert.

'A joint decision to pop to Aldi and get some gourmet and decadent tasty food to compliment the french champagne Veuve Amiot Brut on special for $12 - so the search and hunt began,' she said in a Facebook group.
'We chose for entrée the chicken, leek and Camembert pies, then the Salmon wellingtons plus the spinach and ricotta gratin and then the Custard Danish, plus two bars of chilli chocolate for munching on watching NCIS.'
Their three-course meal and snack came to a total of just $39.35.
'You cant get that at a restaurant or a hotel - and all products were not below 88 per cent Australia made,' she added.

Many people were impressed with her affordable menu, while others said the salmon wellingtons are 'beautiful'.
'Wow you've been all around the world and only went to Aldi, well done,' one said, while another added: 'Going to treat my husband and I to this through the week. Looks delicious.'
Other shoppers raved about the custard Danish, with many saying it's their 'absolute favourite' dessert in their home.
'That Danish is my absolute fave! Unfortunately it doesn't serve four in my household, I tend to eat it all to myself. I told my kids it had alcohol in it so they have never bothered with it,' one mother said, laughing.
Another said: 'The custard Danish is a very popular one in our house! So good!'
