BHUBANESWAR: The state government is planning to hold the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) after the
JEE (Main) ends on July 23. Students have been clueless about OJEE 2020 ever since it was postponed earlier.
OJEE is held every year for admissions to the undergraduate/postgraduate-level professional courses, including BTech, MTech, MBA, MCA, MPharm and BPharm, in the state.
OJEE sources said the Covid-19 situation has been a hindrance in the timely conduct of the examination in the country.

"The JEE (Main) test is scheduled to be held between July 18 and July 23 across the country. If the Centre goes ahead with the scheduled date, we will conduct OJEE by the end of July or the first week of August," a senior officer of the skill development and technical education department, said.
He added that the government will hold a computer-based test (CBT) for all courses from this year. Last year, the OJEE had conducted CBT for all postgraduate (PG) courses only. This year, both PG and undergraduate (UG) courses will be held through the CBT.
The OJEE authorities had decided to hold the entrance tests in the first week of May. But on April 14, they had postponed the examination till further notice. They are yet to take any decision on the dates of the examination.
Students, who are interested in appearing for the OJEE, do not know when it will be conducted this year.
Keeping the situation in mind, the government has also decided not to hold the second OJEE test this year. But it will hold a special OJEE for entry into BTech courses. The aspirants who failed to appear for the JEE (Main) can appear for this examination.
