Mysuru police officers quarantined after colleague tests positive for Covid-19

MYSURU: Twenty-two police officers, including additional superintendent of police and five sub-inspectors of Mysuru district police, have been identified as primary contacts after a constable tested positive for Covid-19.
These officers were working as a team to probe a case of missing of ammunition from T Narasipura police station.
One among the contact is infected and samples of 15 officers yet to be tested, an official said.
Mysuru superintendent of police, supervising the probe, is identified as a secondary contact.
The district police had found that 50 bullets of .303 rifle went missing from the police station on May 23. A week later an FIR was filed accusing a policeman of criminal breach of trust by a public servant. He was placed under suspension. Days later 20 bullets were found on the banks of Kapila river. Cops are still probing to trace other bullets.
Sources claimed after the accused claimed he had couriered bullets to media houses an officer was sent to all print and electronic media offices as part of the probe.
