At least five more cops in Telangana test positive for Covid-19

HYDERABAD: The impact of coronavirus on Telangana Police continues to be felt as five policemen from a police station in Hyderabad tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday.
The five policemen include an inspector-rank officer, and they all have been instructed to be in quarantine.
All these five policemen have been constantly working on the field and interacted with several persons. It was on Saturday, that the inspector had a fever. When he underwent test for Covid-19, he tested positive. Immediately, all his sub-ordinates who came in touch with him, were also made to undergo test. It is learnt that nearly 20 policemen took the test and four tested positive.
Till now, more than 150 policemen have tested positive across the state. An official said that the increase in policemen contracting the virus started with the relaxation of lockdown.
In the last few days, three IPS officers in Telangana tested positive and they are in home quarantine. Few days ago, 23 policemen of a single police station contracted the virus and they are still in quarantine.
