One terrorist was killed in a joint operation that took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district early Sunday, newsagency ANI quoted an Army official as saying.

One terrorist was killed in a joint operation that took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district early Sunday, newsagency ANI quoted an Army official as saying.

"Some weapons were also recovered during the operation," the Northern Command, Indian Army, said.

Operation is still underway, the official said.

Meanwhile, a massive search operation was launched by security forces in Zoonimar Pazwal Pora in Zadibal area of Srinagar.

Reportedly, three militants are trapped in the area.

Following the incident, mobile and internet services have been snapped.

In yet another incident, the Pakistan Army violated ceasefire along the LoC in Balakot sector in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir in the wee hours of Sunday.

The Pakistani forces, reportedly, resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling.
