Tamil Nadu has reported 53 COVID-19 related fatalities taking the toll in the state to 757 as 2,532 more tested positive for the virus pushing the aggregate to 59,377, the health department said on Sunday. With the government enhancing its measures on testing of samples, the state reported its highest ever single day spike of 2,532 fresh cases, the health department said in a bulletin.

Maharashtra Reports 3,870 New Cases | A total of 3,870 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 101 deaths were reported in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in the state to 1,32,075. The death toll stands at 6,170. Of the total cases, Mumbai now has 66,488 cases and have reported 3,671 deaths.
UPDATE | Home Minister Amit Shah in a meeting today reviewed Covid-19 containment strategy in Delhi in light of recommendations by V K Paul committee. The Ministry of Home Affairs has proposed fresh delineation of containments zones, strict monitoring, aggressive contact tracing and quarantining in view of the spurt in coronavirus cases in the national capital.

The government report shows that access to essential services was a major problem as average weekly claim volumes under Ayushman Bharat scheme were 51 percent lower in 10 weeks of lockdown compared to the 12 weeks prior to lockdown.

Telangana Ministers Hit Back at Nadda over Covid-19 Test Remarks | Seeking to turn the tables, Telangana Health Minister E Rajender said, "The Centre gave 2 lakh N95 masks and some PPE kits as if it gave alms. The testing kits meant for Telangana were diverted to Kolkata. We got 14 lakh N95 masks and 10 lakh PPE kits on our own. After Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Telangana is racing ahead in the healthcare sector. Telangana is a role model to the country."

J&K Covid-19 Tally Update | Health bulletin shows Jammu and Kashmir officials reported 122 new coronavirus cases today: Jammu division confirmed 20 and Kashmir division confirmed 102. The total number of cases in the union territory now stands at 5956 while the death toll is at 82. The tally includes 3,382 recovered cases.

Gujarat Records 580 New Covid-19 Cases | Health bulletin shows Gujarat recorded a total of 580 new coronavirus cases and 25 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 27317 while the death toll reached 1,664. The tally includes 19,357 discharges and 6,296 active cases. of the total new cases, 273 new cases and 20 deaths were confirmed in Ahmedabad alone.
3,000 More Covid-19 Cases Reported in Delhi | A total of 3,000 new coronavirus cases were reported in New Delhi in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of infections in the national capital to 59,746. The death toll reached 2175 after 63 fatalities were reported. The tally includes 33013 recoveries and 24, 558 active cases.

Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain, who is being treated for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in an ICU of a private hospital, is doing better and could be shifted to the general ward by Monday, hospital sources said on Sunday.
India saw a new 24-hour record in the number of Covid-19 cases, taking the total number of cases to 4.10 lakh. Around 15,400 of these were reported on Saturday. The country’s death toll from the pandemic also cross 13,000.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in the world has now surged to over 8.7 million, while the deaths are nearing 463,000, according to the Johns Hopkins University. By Sunday morning, the total number of cases stood at 8,768,285, while the fatalities increased to 463,999, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering revealed in its latest update.
India had reported a record jump in coronavirus infections on Saturday, a day after the Delhi government ordered hospitals to cancel any leave and have workers return to duty immediately. India saw an increase of 14,516 Covid-19 cases, the health ministry said, taking the total to 395,047 with 12,948 deaths.
India now has the world's fourth highest number behind the United States, Brazil and Russia. In a memo to all government hospitals on Friday, the Delhi government ordered all leave cancelled and said further leave would only be granted under the most compelling circumstances.
A number of countries continue to evacuate their citizens from India, amid concerns hospitals in major cities such as Delhi and Mumbai may be overwhelmed.
