Tuned Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo Horizon Camper Van Targets Outdoor Lovers

The Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo Horizon’s versatility has been enhanced with the addition of new features.

Created by Hartmann’s Vansports division and dubbed the VP Gravity, the project builds on the V250d model and is offered with a system designed to optimize the rear space of the vehicle.

It adds two 46 in (117 cm) long drawers, each with a 220 lbs (100 kg) capacity, as well as three aluminum storage boxes in two load heights, which double as a table. The robust kitchen box is part of the build and can hold 3.2 gallons (12 liters) each of fresh and drain water, and installing these usually takes around one hour. Saddlebags for the side windows are offered as an option, and when removed, they can be carried as suitcases.

The ground clearance of the Marco Polo has been elevated by 1.2 inches (30 mm) with a new spring set that’s suitable for both two- and all-wheel drive versions of the camper van. The plastic trim protects against bumps and scrapes, whereas the rubber strip inserts in the loading area and new 19-inch rims, in a matte silver/black finish, with 245/45 tires, complete the offering.

Elsewhere, the Marco Polo features a pop-up roof tent and a foldable mattress, which turn it into a small home away from home, save for the bathroom. Things such as Bluetooth music streaming, smartphone integration, digital rearview mirror and others have been added to the standard 2020MY, and will be joined by the optional AirMatic air suspension from October.
