Margao: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) on Sunday demanded resignation of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister for State for Defence Shripad Naik over the India-China border issue, stating the Modi government is in slumber.
GPCC president Girish Chodankar said, “The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister for State for Defence Shripad Naik must immediately resign taking moral responsibility for the blunder of the government which has cost 20 precious lives of our brave soldiers.”
He said that “the statement made by Naik saying that the attack on India was pre-planned by China was a clear admission of the fact that Indian government was in deep slumber and had no clue of developments happening on the border.”
“The BJP government has no interest in safety and security of our country. They have a single point agenda of glorifying Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” said Chodankar.
“Going by the statement of Shripad Naik, the Modi government needs to answer how the intelligence agencies did not get any information about the preparedness of the Chinese Army along the border. How come the satellite information is not gathered by the defence intelligence,” he asked.
