Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar to accelerate development work in Pune

Pune: While coping with the Coronavirus crisis, Deputy Chief Minister and the Pune Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar, on Sunday, has instructed to speed up the various development work underway in the talukas of Pune District and were also asked to improve the quality of work.

Minister Pawar, inspected various works being carried out at Supe village in Baramati Taluka of Pune District. During Minister Pawar inspection tour, he was speaking to the Zilla Parishad member Bharat Khaire, Sub-Divisional Officer Dadasaheb Kamble, Tehsildar Vijay Patil, Block Development Officer (BDO) Rahul Kalbhor, Taluka Agriculture Officer D B Padwal, Supe village sarpanch Swati Hirve, and other local gram panchayat members.

Minister Pawar inspected the on-going work and also visited various spots, recently that were damaged due to heavy rains. He personally planted a sapling as well and visited Karhati village in Baramati Taluka. He inaugurated an event organized by the state agricultural department, and also distributed fertilizers and seeds to the farmers. He also interacted with them about current farming conditions and other scenarios.
He also inspected and followed up on the Jalgaon Supe-Anjangaon road work, that has been carried under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme. The work under the first phase is to complete the road distance of 1.5 kilometers and to complete an additional stretch of 1.5 km of road work in the next phase.

Minister Pawar, addressing the meeting said, "While we all are fighting the Coronavirus pandemic, all the health norms laid down by the government should be followed religiously. At the same time, emphasis should be laid on quality and timely completion of ongoing project work done for development in the respective talukas must be smoothly carried out. Care should be taken of offices in those areas and not to encroach the land adjacent to the government buildings, if there are any encroachments, they should be removed immediately or the administration will have no choice but remove it forcefully. Trees should be planted around such buildings which will help to protect the premises as well as the environment. But these trees should be indigenous and useful."
