The office of the CMO has been sealed for 48 hours and will reopen on Monday after sanitisation of the premises, officials said.
“On Saturday, an employee — with a travel history to Delhi — working with the vaccine department in CMO’s office was found to be positive,” said an official from the health department. “In another case, a stenographer, who works for the nodal officer of quarantine centres in Ghaziabad, has also tested positive. Both employees have been placed under quarantine and the office has been sealed for 48 hours,” added the official.
There are over 50 employees at the CMO’s office. The health department, as a precautionary measure, conducted random sampling and the staffers have been asked to stay in home quarantine for a few days.
On Wednesday, the women’s hospital in Ghaziabad was sealed for a day after some of its staffers, including the chief medical superintendent, were found to have come in contact with three people who tested positive.
