KALYAN: A 73-year-old elderly man crossing road died after a speeding motorcycle hit him and fled from spot in Dombivli.
The victim identified as Krishna Usrekar. The police said Usrekar on Thursday evening was crossing Badlapur pipeline road near Kolegaon to go to his home when suddenly a motorcycle rider hit Usrekar and fled from the spot. Looking at the accident, autorickshaw driver Motiram Dalvi, who was passing from road informed about the incident to local Manpada police, who rushed the injured to a nearby private hospital where doctor declared him brought dead.
Dilip Jadhav, assistant police inspector of Manpada police station said, "Acting information from eyewitness we have registered case against unknown driver of motorcycle and further probe is on to search the culprit."
