Does Manhattan Green Metallic Suit The $114k BMW X5 M Competition?

The 2020 BMW X5 M Competition is one of the fastest SUVs in the world. It’s powered by a 4.4-liter twin turbo V8, sending 617 HP (625 PS) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque to all four wheels.

It’s so quick off the line, it will absolutely demolish most other family haulers on sale today, as well as some older supercars that, not long ago, were at the top of the food chain. You see, it needs just 3.7 seconds to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) – and that pretty much says it all.

In order to access this type of performance and versatility, you need to spend upwards of $114,100, exactly $9,000 more than you would on the “regular” X5 M.

Now, if you’re already spending that much money, you’ll be glad to know that BMW will often make additional exterior colors available for its top-end models, at least more than you would get while specifying a “lowly” 3-Series for example. Here we have Manhattan Green Metallic, which is considered a premium color, albeit not one included in the BMW Individual range.

We would also argue that it works better on something with a lot of road presence and additional contrasting elements, like the X5 M Competition’s gloss black trim and carbon fiber mirror casings, rather than a non-M variant.

As for the upholstery, it’s a combination between black leather and Sakhir Orange, which also comes at no extra cost on this spec. What does cost extra, though, is the Rear-seat entertainment Professional system ($2,200).

Even though this car is on display at BMW Abu Dhabi, U.S. buyers can opt for this exact same spec without having to spend extra on options – unless you really need those two screens for the rear passengers.
