Coronavirus India News LIVE Updates: Today is the 88th day of India’s nationwide lockdown, meant to curb the novel coronavirus pandemic. India is now among the five countries most affected by the outbreak, with a total of 380,532 infections and 12,573 deaths. The Supreme Court on June 19 took note of the differences in COVID-19 testing charges in various states and asked the Centre to decide on the issue, and said all states should set up a panel of experts to inspect hospitals to ensure proper care the patients. The top court bench observed during the hearing that there should be uniformity in COVID-19 testing charge in all states.

One patient has migrated.
Globally, there have been over 86.39 lakh confirmed cases of COVID-19. At least 4.59 lakh people have died so far. The United States, Brazil, Russia, India and the United Kingdom are the most-affected countries.Top

ICA raises Rs 78 lakh, extends help to 57 needy cricketers amid COVID-19 crisis
Boosted by significant contributions, the Indian Cricketers Association (ICA) has managed to raise Rs 78 lakh and will provide financial assistance to 57 needy cricketers as they battle the COVID-19 pandemic. The ICA had originally planned to help 25-30 former players, who are struggling for funds amid the health crisis.
"We were expecting to help 20 to 25 cricketers but with the support of fellow cricketers we have managed to provide assistance to 57 cricketers," the association's president Ashok Malhotra said. The new batch of 24 beneficiaries include blind cricketer Shekhar Naik, who was awarded Padma Shri in 2017, and three widows of the former players. (PTI)
Coronavirus impact | 'Housing sales down 75% due to COVID-19 pandemic'
Housing sales are estimated to have plunged by around 75 per cent after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, forcing developers to offer discounts and better payment plans to boost sales, property brokerage firm 360 Realtors said on Saturday.
Addressing a virtual press conference, 360 Realtors founder and MD Ankit Kansal said the company sold400 units during April, 33 per cent lower as compared to the same month last year. Nearly half of the sales were driven by NRIs. "Housing sales are down 70-75 per cent during the last three months compared with the pre-COVID level," he said. (PTI)
Uttar Pradesh's COVID-19 tally reaches 17,135; toll rises to 529
Twenty-two people have succumbed to COVID-19 and 541 more people tested positive in Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday. The death toll in the state now is 529 with the coronavirus tally reaching 17,135. Principal Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad said 10,369 of the total infected have recovered. The state has 6,237 active COVID-19 patients now. (PTI)
Glenmark launches COVID-19 drug after DCGI nod; MRP at Rs 103 per tablet
Drug firm Glenmark Pharmaceuticals on Saturday said it has launched antiviral drug Favipiravir, under the brand name FabiFlu, for the treatment of patients with mild to moderate COVID-19 at a price of about Rs 103 per tablet. The drug will be available as a 200 mg tablet at a maximum retail price (MRP) of Rs 3,500 for a strip of 34 tablets, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals said.
FabiFlu is the first oral favipiravir-approved medication in India for the treatment of COVID-19, it said in a statement. It is a prescription-based medication, with recommended dose being 1,800 mg twice daily on day one, followed by 800 mg twice daily up to day 14, it added. (PTI)

Six people working in the Uttar Pradesh Helpline 112 have tested positive for COVID-19, following which the office has been closed for sanitisation till Monday, a police officer said. They are of the technical team and work in the server area, he said, adding that all of them are asymptomatic.
"After one of the personnel working in UP-112 tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, samples of 30 people were taken. Five of them have tested positive for COVID-19," ADG, UP-112, Asim Kumar Arun said in a statement. (PTI)
Coronavirus in Pakistan LIVE updates | Pakistan registers record single-day coronavirus deaths, cases cross 171,000-mark
Pakistan on Saturday reported 153 coronavirus deaths, the highest spike in a single-day in the country, while the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases crossed the 171,000-mark, health officials said. According to the Ministry of National Health Services, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 171,665 after 6,604 new infections were recorded in the last 24 hours. The total death toll stands at 3,382 after 153 more deaths were registered.
The ministry said that 63,504 people have recovered so far across Pakistan, making it a significant count. (PTI)

Tripura reported 27 fresh COVID-19 cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,186, officials said on Saturday. A total of 657 people have recovered, reducing the number of active cases in the state to 529, they said.
"Out of 1,279 samples tested for COVID-19, 27 people found positive. The count includes South Dist: 19, Gomati Dist: 3, West Dist: 3, Unokoti Dist: 2," Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb tweeted. Tripura has been witnessing a rise in the number coronavirus cases days after it was declared free from the disease in late April. (PTI)
