CHENNAI:
Tamil Nadu chief minister
Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday denied reports that higher education minister K P Anbazhagan is down with
Covid-19.
“The minister is not down with Covid-19, and this has been clarified by the minister himself. When the minister says he is not affected by the virus, what can we say,” Palaniswami told reporters while visiting Guru Nanak College in Velachery where an institutional quarantine facility is being set up.
On Friday, speaking to TOI, Anbazhagan confirmed that he had tested positive. On Friday afternoon, Union minister for human resource development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank tweeted: “Just got to know that Shri @KPAnbalaganoffl has tested positive for Covid-19! I sincerely wish and pray to the God almighty for his speedy recovery. Hoping he gets healthy and well soon.”
