Goa sees 29 new COVID cases

Panaji: The state on Saturday reported 29 fresh cases of the COVID-19 pandemic, taking the total number of active COVID-19 cases to 625. At the same time, 11 COVID patients recovered from the dreaded disease on Saturday.

As many as nine of the 29 new cases are from the locality of Mangor Hill, the containment zone in Vasco, while two cases are linked to the Mangor Hill. As per the media bulletin issued by the directorate of health services, new cases also include five cases from Curtorim, three from New Vaddem and one case from Headland Sada, Vasco.

Till date, Goa has seen 754 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 625 are active, while 129 patients have defeated the deadly virus.

According to the DHS, 625 active cases include 72 persons who travelled from outside Goa by road, trains, and flighats; 322 residents of Mangor Hill, while 183 cases are linked to the containment zone.

The major locations from where cases are surfacing include New Vaddem (16), Morlem (19), Baina (30), Chimbel (25) and Headland Sada (31).
